Attendance
Regular attendance in primary school plays a vital role in children’s academic progress, social development, and overall wellbeing. When pupils attend school consistently, they are better able to build strong routines, develop positive relationships, and fully engage with the curriculum. Children who attend regularly are more likely to feel settled, confident, and ready to learn, which in turn supports positive behaviour in the classroom. By working together to ensure high attendance, we can help every child develop the habits and attitudes they need to succeed both in school and beyond.
As a school we work hard to keep our attendance figures in line with National Averages, when Ofsted next inspect the school, our attendance needs to be in line with National average to obtain the expected standard in Attendance and Behaviour.
The national average figure for attendance is 94.6% and our current attendance this year is 94.0% . If you need any support with attendance or punctuality, please approach a member of the leadership team or Nicola Brown, or Family Support Worker
It has been an extremely busy and productive week across all areas of school life!
The children have enjoyed a range of enriching wider curriculum experiences. Year 4 had a fantastic trip to Battle, bringing their learning to life, while other pupils had the exciting opportunity to use virtual headsets to explore and deepen their understanding of current topics.
We also welcomed external visitors into school this week, including our Director of Education and a Talk for Writing consultant, who carried out learning walks in maths and writing. Both visits were very positive, and they were impressed with the progress children are making in these key areas.
On Thursday, we held our Brighton to Bletchingley Sprint event, which was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all the children. A big thank you to FOBs for organising and to Chris and Riley for their support. We look forward to sharing the final fundraising total in next week’s newsletter.
Have a lovely weekend, hopefully the good weather will remain.
